How I Met Your Mother at its finest. I don’t even care if it’s nowhere near as funny as it used to be. Just give me some call backs to earlier episodes, one decent joke a time, maybe Conan O’Brien in the background of a shot and, most important of all, advance the main storyline, and you’ve got a great show. I think anyone else who’s been following it from the start can attest to how hard it can hit sometimes, and this week’s episode was probably one of the best in a long time.

I agree, but I like episodes that do genuinely advance the storyline. I’ll always feel the stuff with Zoey, for instance, was so sloppy and such a waste.. I find the episodes that manage to be funny, relatable, and touching are the best. But there just hasn’t been enough of them lately.
